Here are some tools for controlling a SONY LVR-5000 Video disc recorder.
This applies a script to a range of frames on the video disc, and records the processed frames back onto the disc recorder. Start and finish select a range of source frames to process from the video disc. Step selects how much to advance before reading the next frame from the disc. script is the name of an image processing script that is passed two arguments. The first argument is the name of an image file to process, the second is the name that the script should write its output to. The current inpoint is used to select where processed frames are written on the disc.
This turns the numerical and status display off. This affects the video output from the disc recorder.

Sets the frame number on the video disc for recording. This frame number will be used by svexpose to identify the next frame to be recorded. After a frame is recorded the inpoint is automatically incremented. The current inpoint is recorded in the file /usr/tmp/SONYLASTFRAME.
Records a single frame at the specified location on the video disc. The inpoint will be set the frameno+1 if the recording is successful.
Displays a sequence of frames from the video disc. Frames starting at start are shown up to the frame at finish. Slowness controls the speed of palyback. A slowness of 3 will cause the playback to happen at 1/3 speed. If only a start frame number is given, then only this frame will be displayed.
This causes the video disc recorder to display the input video signal on its video output.
This causes the video disc recorder to display video from the disc on its video output.
Displays a color image on the Indigo Starter video board and records a frame. The current inpoint is used to select where to write the frame on the video disc. The inpoint will be incremented if the recording is successful. NOTE: in the Makefile, the rule for compiling svexpose is currently commented out and an svexpose executable is not included on the Toolbox CD image. It is left to those working on Indigo Starter machines to uncomment the compile rule for svexpose and explicitly compile this program on their local machine(s).
